Lyrics

Fade in from black
Set the scene, hit the lights
She’s done this before
Same routine, every night
But this time its different
Its come to an end
The chapter is over, a new one begins

She walks of the stage,
One last smile for the crowd
So much lies within
That farewell final bow
As she fights back the tears
This life came at a cost
She knows what she’s gained but regrets what she lost

It’s her swan song, Sometimes it’s just turning a page
And she moves on, Forever done with this stage
No more makeup or masks, no more costumes or acts
She just says, “It’s time to be me”

So many faces she wore through the years
Now only a stranger looks back in the mirror
Bute she can speak when she wants and can’t wait to be heard
She hears her own voice and it’s worth every word

It’s her swan song, Sometimes it’s just turning a page
And she moves on, Forever done with this stage
No more makeup or masks, no more costumes or acts
She just says, “It’s time to be me”

Deep down in her soul, there’s a longing for love
A hole in her heart as she looked up above
Though some dreams did come true, you just can’t have it all
But it’s never too late to begin something new
And you have to be brave and you have to be strong

It’s her swan song
She knows what she’s leaving behind, And life goes on
And now she’s ready for change
To the scripted old scene, to that worn out routine
To the past she says, “goodbye”
And she says, “It’s time to be me.”
