The 6th album by Julie Elias is a labor of love and a project of passion. With a vision started a few years ago but a theme that developed in the loneliness and uncertainty of the pandemic, "The Dreamer" is about persistence in an unknown world. We all know what it's like when our disappointment and frustration leads to discouragement. It can be easy to get "stuck" there but that is not how God wants us to live. He wants us to trust in HIS plan for us; to know He has a hope and a future for us. Sometimes we see His encouragement through others; Julie's hope for this album is that YOU never forget what it feels like to dream, to envision a future YOU want and to know that you are not alone in this pursuit.

Oh and watch this space: Julie's first book is coming soon. And it's all about dreaming...

Song Highlight:

The Prayer with John Owen-Jones

When I was 19 years old, I went to London for an exchange program. In what became my favorite city, I first saw "The Phantom of the Opera." I'd never seen a musical that connected with me so much; the actor who played the Phantom was the most emotive performance I'd ever seen, and "the guy" playing him at the best voice I'd ever heard. In fact, that performance inspired me to take my first voice lesson and first acting class, thus changing the whole trajectory of my life.

"The guy" was Welsh actor John Owen-Jones, who has played the Phantom close to 2000 times on the West End and Broadway, as well as just as many performances as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables" in the West End, Broadway and many international tours.

Julie reached out to John when recording this album about possibly doing a duet - the worst he could say was "no," right? - and he kindly obliged, making "The Prayer" one of the most full circle moments of Julie's life. It doesn't hurt that it's one of the prettiest songs ever.

I hope you enjoy this song especially knowing how much it means to me. Thank you, John, for lending your tremendous talent to my album!!
